Wenatchee-based Pacific Aerospace & Electronics, Inc. has entered into a revised letter of intent with Jungle Street, Inc., of Everett, parent corporation of Televar, Inc., a regional Internet access provider. Pacific Aerospace plans to acquire Jungle Street's outstanding common stock for cash. Jungle Street and Televar would be a part of Pacific Aerospace's newly-formed Information Technology Group. Pacific Aerospace develops, manufactures, markets and sells precision components and electronic assemblies designed to operate in harsh environments, such as the ocean, space and the human body.
Rule1Software of Redmond has launched a new program designed to provide computers to inner-city kids to help them develop computer skills. President Al Martin is looking for other businesses to participate in the Mount Zion Ethnic School computer program or set up similar programs for inner-city kids and their families. Richard Pelly has been named finance manager for the Northwest region by Sprint PCS. He has 13 years experience in the telecommunications industry and will be based in the Kirkland office. Sprint also named three sales managers for the region. Gary Rurup will be direct sales manager for the Tacoma/Olympia market; Leslie Margarones will hold that post for the Seattle/Everett market and James Patneaude will be indirect sales manager for the Seattle/Tacoma market. Three new store managers have been named in the region. Michelle Cole will run the Seattle Sprint PCS retail store. Nancy Wilson is in the Tukwila store and Patricia Bastian is in the Tacoma store. Sprint is developing a nationwide Personal Communications Services (PCS) network.

Teledesic, the new company backed by telecommunications pioneer Craig McCaw and Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, has hired Phinney Bischoff Design House to develop and design a web site and print marketing materials for the company.
The merger of CB Commercial Real Estate Group, Inc., with Koll Real Estate Services closed on Sept. 2. The combined company will operate under the CB Commercial name with headquarters in Los Angeles. In the Seattle area, 18 Koll employees will join 127 people at CB. The company's combined western Washington portfolio of 3.7 million square feet will be managed by Koll's Chris Holden and CB's Betsy Sutherland. The portfolio includes downtown Seattle high-rise buildings, suburban offices, high-tech and industrial properties, and shopping centers.

The sixth annual Day of Caring will be held in Seattle Friday, Sept. 5, when 5,000 volunteers will work at more than 260 project sites throughout the county, cleaning, painting, repairing, landscaping, cooking, reading books and teaching computer skills. The Day of Caring is sponsored by Seafirst Bank and will mark the kickoff for United Way of King County's campaign to raise $55.5 million. A rally for the Day of Caring will start at 7:30 a.m. at Pier 62/63 on the Seattle waterfront.
The law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine announced expansion of its national communications, media and intellectual property law practices with the addition of partners Lawrence Roberts, Linda Eckard and Kenneth Kaufman as well as of counsel James Blitz, all previous stockholders of Roberts & Eckard. They are joining Davis Wright's Washington D.C. office along with Karen Casser, Mary Plantamura, Pamela Cooper and four staff members.

Paul R. Skidmore has joined the staff of Coughlin Porter Lundeen as a project engineer. Also an architect, his background includes specialization in wood-frame structures. His current projects include the Mount Vernon Fire station, Bellevue Fire Stations 4 and 9, Chateau Development Condominiums, and Cle Elum Condominiums. Civil engineer and project manager Laurie J. Pfarr-Dillard and structural engineer Patricia D. Nakamura also joined the firm. Pfarr-Dillard, whose experience includes managing public and private development projects, is now at work on the Willlow Creek Corporate Center of Redmond, Pyramid Apartments in Tukwila, and Des Moines City Hall. Nakamura, who specializes in steel frame, post-tesioned concrete and wood frame structures, is now at work on Bellevue Park Condominiums, New Puyallup High School and the Union Station parking structure. Other recent staff additions at Coughlin Porter Lundeen include structural engineers Cory Hitzemann, Tim Mealy, and Bryan Zagers. CAD technicians Laura Henrichs, Leland Leahy and Michael Townsend also joined the firm.
Karsea Dawson has joined Baylis Brand Wagner as an intern architect. She is at work on Marsh Commons, a closed gate community located in Kirkland along Lake Washington Boulevard, and Bellevue Park Condominiums, which border the Bellevue Downtown Park on the north side. Clarence Kwan has also joined the firm as an intern architect with a masters degree from the University of Washigton, and will be focusing his CAD skills on Meadow Creek Office Park, which is located in Issaquah, and a new condominium development in Bothell.
