RXL Pulitzer

RXL Pulitzer, an international multimedia and video communications firm with offices in Seattle, has promoted Marleen Eitzen to vice president of project development. Eitzen was previously executive producer in charge of special projects. Stephanie Baldwin has been named project management coordinator for the interactive division, focussing on interactive media production and design. Carman Cano has been named graphic artist. Cano previously served as creative director for Indra, an information and technology firm in Madrid, Spain.

Xypoint Corporation

Xypoint Corporation, a Seattle-based firm that uses wireless technology to locate mobile people and objects, has appointed John Clark vice president of operations. Clark will be responsible for delivering wireless location-based services, such as wireless-enhanced 9-1-1, to wireless carriers. Clark formerly founded Toll Free Cellular, a provider of #800 free wireless calling.

Morse McFadden Communications

Morse McFadden Communications, a Kirkland-based public relations agency specializing in advanced technologies, has hired Rhia Siegle as account coordinator. Michele Davis has been promoted to account manager from account coordinator. Rod Anderson has been promoted to account supervisor from account manager.

Washington Software Alliance

The Washington Software Alliance is holding its 1998 Investor Forum on June 2nd at Seattle's Westin Hotel. Presenter applications for this event are due by 5 p.m., April 17. The purpose of the forum is to provide funding opportunities to high-tech firms. The association will select a mix of 18 companies at various stages of financing needs and showcase them through formal presentations and in-person meetings with potential investors. Over 250 investors are expected to attend the event. Gail Bennett has become co-chair of the intellectual property practice group in Foster Pepper & Shefelman's Seattle law offices. Bennett's practice emphasizes intellectual property matters including technology development and licensing, copyright, and trade secret protection. Bennett will lead the group with her co-chair, Lynne Graybeal.

Association for Women in Communications

The Seattle chapter of The Association for Women in Communications will hold its annual Matrix Table dinner event at 5:30 p.m., May 6th, at the Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle. This year's Matrix Table will feature mystery writer J.A. Jance as its speaker and honor six "Women of Achievement" and one company with a "Corporate Excellence Award." The women to be honored include Barbara Hedges, University of Washington Director of Athletics; Irene Harvitz, community activist for the disabled; Melissa Hines, managing director of the Empty Space Theatre; Judith Billings, former state superintendent of public instruction and founder of Targeted Alliances; Sharon Elliott, senior vice president of human resources, Starbucks Coffee Company; and K.D. Hallman, director-I.T.G, Microsoft Corporation. The company to be honored is the Boeing Employees' Credit Union. Cost is $60 per person and $40 for students. Windermere

New technology has come to Windermere's residential real estate agents. Using Pocket Net, AT&T's new cellular service, agents can get immediate access to a database of information about properties for sale. Data about such things as active, pending and sold properties, including address, number of baths, bedrooms and other amenities, is displayed directly on the telephones' screens. The required software was developed by Windermere. Pocket Net works with telephones manufactured by Mitsubishi and Samsung.

Metawave Communications Corporation, a Redmond-based provider of spectrum management systems for the wireless industry, has named Scot B. Jarvis to its board of directors. Jarvis is most prominently known for his work in acquisitions and development at McCaw Cellular Communications. Jarvis also serves on the board of directors for Nextlink Communications, Inc., PulsePoint Communications, Inc., Wireless Facilities, Inc., and Xypoint Corporation.
