Five former employees from Paul Allen's online media company, Starwave, have launched a new full-service Web production company, Network Nine, Inc. Network Nine specializes in designing and developing Internet, Intranet and e-commerce Web sites for clients such as Vulcan Ventures, Microsoft and Pura Vida Coffee. Network Nine is located in Pioneer Square. Erling Aspelund, Eneida Guzman, Michael Holden, Ron Morris and Laura Blanchard are co-founders.
Galileo International has acquired a minority equity interest in Seattle-based Destinations.com Inc., a provider of travel reservations products and services for resorts, convention and visitor bureaus and other destination marketing organizations. Galileo International CFO Paul Bristow will serve as a member of Destinations.com's board of directors.

CDCom, a Federal Way-based provider of alternatives to traditional methods of storing, retrieving and distributing information, has appointed Paul M. Pinard president and CEO. Pinard formerly served as director of sales operations and general manager at AT&T Wireless and AT&T. CDCom uses compact disc technology to shift records management from microfilm and microfiche.

Richard F. Meyerhoefer has been named motion control applications specialist at Delta Computer Systems Inc., a Vancouver-based advanced capability controllers, color sensors and sorters, and custom industrial control products provider.
Three project engineers at Sellen Construction have been promoted to senior project engineers. They include Nancy Rickert, Kirk Van Landeghen and Bret Downing. Rickert is working on the Swedish Medical Center, Van Landeghen on the Harborview Research and Training Facility, and Downing on the renovation of Microsoft's Buildings 16-18. Sellen is a Seattle-based general contractor.

Rapigene Inc., a Seattle-based genomics and services subsidiary of Chiroscience Group, has appointed Nick McCooke as president and chief operating officer and Karen Hedine as vice president for business development. McCooke formerly served as president of Innovex Japan. Hedine formerly served as vice president of business development for Canadian-based Phytogen Pharmaceuticals Inc.
