Paladin Data Systems

A Poulsbo company, Paladin Data Systems, has won the Kitsap Economic Futures Award from the Economic Development Council of Kitsap County. The company develops database management software for such companies as Starbucks and IBM. It was launched in 1994 by four former Navy civilian engineers and now has 58 employees and offices in Seattle, Spokane and Salt Lake City in addition to Poulsbo.

Davis Wright Tremaine

Todd M. Becker recently joined the corporate and intellectual property law practices of the Seattle offices of Davis Wright Tremaine. Becker formerly served as a patent attorney with the law firm Seed & Berry.

Berger

Misty Philbin was named senior associate at The Berger Partnership. Her current projects include Seattle University's Law School, McCormick Woods Conference Center in Port Orchard, Amazon.com, Epiphany Parish and several residential projects that have been featured in regional house and garden publications. She joined the firm in 1992 with 12 years of experience, and became an associate in 1995. Judson Youell was recently promoted to associate. His current projects include Redmond Senior and Junior High Schools, Benaroya Research Center and Holy Disciples Parish, Puyallup. Jud joined the firm in 1991, with 10 years of design and landscape construction experience. He is a 1980 graduate of the University of Idaho. Guy Michaelsen was promoted to project manager. His recent projects include Pacific Place, Redmond Town Center REI, 700 Olive (Nordstrom's new headquarters) and several high-end residential projects. Guy joined the firm in 1995, with two years of landscape design and construction management experience. He is a 1993 graduate of Washington State University. Peter Taylor was promoted to project manager. He has been with The Berger Partnership since 1994. Peter is currently serving as project manager for the Nordstrom Distribution Center in Maryland, Nordstrom Flatiron in Colorado, Pacific Science Center's IMAX theater and 3 Bellevue office tower, Bellevue. Jason Henry was recently promoted to project manager. He began his career with The Berger Partnership in 1996, after receiving a bachelor degree in landscape architecture from Washington State University. His projects include the Penrose Memorial Library at Whitman College in Walla Walla, The Inn at McCormick Woods in Port Orchard, Langley Cottages (additions to the Inn at Langley) in Langley, Columbia Winery in Redmond and a variety of residential projects. Jennifer Salazar recently became a member of the technical staff team. She provides AutoCAD and Microstation support for the Environmental Learning Center, located on Bainbridge Island, and Nordstrom projects nationwide. She joined the firm in 1996, with a master of landscape architecture degree from the University of Washington. Tia Rheaume joined the firm in November as an administrative assistant and receptionist. She recently moved to Seattle from New Hampshire, with a background in sales support, administrative support and social services. She has a bachelor of arts degree from Bates College.

David A. LeMaster has become a shareholder and member of George, Hull, Porter & Kohli, a Seattle-based law firm. Tracie Wall recently joined the firm as an associate practicing corporate transactions, tax issues, real estate matters and estate planning. Derek Woolston recently joined the firm as an associate practicing business litigation, employment law and intellectual property.

Emerald Solutions

Emerald Solutions, a Portland-based information technology consulting services company, recently hired Jim Gruher as senior vice president of the western region. Gruher will oversee operations in Bellevue and Portland. Gruher formerly served as managing vice president of the manufacturing industry solutions group at Complete Business Solutions.

Hewitt Architects

John Aldredge has been promoted to the level of associate at Hewitt Architects. He is currently project architect on Welch Plaza, a mixed use residential project in the Central District and Project Manager on 106th Place Condominiums, a mixed use residential project in Bellevue. He is Project Manager for the King County 911 Regional Communications and Emergency Coordination Center. Eight people have recently joined the staff of Hewitt Architects. Mark Evans' nine years of architecture experience includes multi family residential, commercial and international hospitality projects. He is project architect for 523 Broadway, a mixed use residential project incorporating housing and a grocery on Capitol Hill, and for Redmond Town Center mixed use housing. Andrew Engel has also joined the firm with nine years experience in architecture, including corporate architecture and corporate campus planning. Engel is currently working on transportation projects including the passenger only ferry terminals for Washington State Ferries and Sound Transit LINK light rail system. David Laielli has experience in the design of institutional and commercial facilities, and is currently working on the Port of Seattle's Cruise Ship Terminal located at Bell Street Pier. Gordon Ramstrom has worked on marine and ferry terminals, multi-family housing, health care, airports, and corporate projects during the last 19 years. At Hewitt, Ramstrom is project architect on Sixth and Blanchard, a commercial office and retail project in the Denny Regrade. Christine Rothman has six years experience as a landscape designer. Recent project work includes Harbor Steps North and Redmond Town Center Mixed-Use Housing. Lee Stubbe's 25 years of experience as an architect includes ownership of his own firm and work with design firms in Seattle, Honolulu, and Japan. An early expert with CAD, Stubbe is experienced with mixed-use developments and multi family and single family residential. He has won design competitions for projects in Japan and Mercer Island. Stubbe is currently working on Carpenters Tower, a mixed use residential project in the Belltown neighborhood. Chris Dillard, a recent graduate of the University of Idaho, is proficient in computer applications for the design industry including CAD and 3DS Max. Jeannine McAuliffe has four years experience in architecture. McAuliffe has been a design team member for commercial projects, including international experience with an office complex in Norway, and for student housing. McAuliffe is currently working on Welch Plaza, a mixed use residential project.

C3MG

George Kelly recently joined C3MG as construction manager and project controls engineer in the firm's Portland office. He has previously worked for Anderson Construction Company, International Design Corporation and Koll Development Company. He has participated in projects for the Oregon Museum of History and Industry, Hewlett Packard, Kamatsu Silicon American and Intel.
