The Fisher Properties Board of Directors has elected R. Scott Herrmann vice president of the Marketing and Leasing Division. He had been director of the division. Herrmann has been in commercial real estate 12 years. Before Fisher, he worked for Nooney Kromback in St. Louis, Mo. In addition to Fisher's existing portfolio of 1.3 million square feet, Fisher Properties is developing Fisher Plaza, a digital connectivity and tele-media center for Fisher Broadcasting. The $100 million, 5-story building will be the headquarters for KOMO TV and will serve as a production and programming resource for Fisher's 25 radio stations and, with the addition of Retlaw Broadcasting in July, 13 television stations.

Cymbolic Sciences, a Bellingham-based manufacturer of digital imaging products, recently became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gretag Imaging, a Zurich, Switzerland-based supplier of photofinishing and image technology products. Cymbolic Sciences will operate as an independent business unit of Gretag's professional business initiative and will maintain its office in Bellingham.
Altrec.com, a Bellevue-based Internet only outdoor and active travel specialty retailer, recently appointed Erick Soderstrom as vice president of marketing. Soderstrom formerly served as director of advertising and consumer communications with Nintendo of America Inc. Tim Shannon, former head of customer services and credit at Seattle's Outdoor Research, was recently added as operations manager and oversees customer service, logistics and warehousing. Rich Bennett, former buyer at Bellevue-based specialty retailer Marmot Mountain Works, was recently added to the merchandising team to develop and oversee the multi-sport hardgoods business.

Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership has named five new principals in the Seattle office. Karen Gunsul is director of interior design in the Seattle office, with over 21 years of professional experience. Her recent projects include the World Trade Center, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Phase II, the Safeco Redmond Campus Expansion and a number of facilities for Microsoft. Bill LaPatra is a design principal with office management responsibilities. Since joining the firm in 1989, he has served as senior designer on three science buildings for Western Washington University, Sellen Construction Co.'s corporate office building, and the children's therapy unit at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. Dave Neal, a project manager with over 27 years of professional experience, has been responsible for the day-to-day management of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center for 11 years. Since joining the firm in 1990, Mike Omura has managed the design of the International District Village Square, the World Trade Center in Seattle, a new academic building for the University of Puget Sound, and the Kirkland and Bothell libraries for the King County library system. Allyn Stellmacher, a design principal with ZGF, joined the firm in 1989. His recent projects include the Millennium Tower for Martin Smith Development, and the Cancer Care Alliance for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

Alexandria Digital Literature, a Seattle-based internet publisher of digital science fiction, recently introduced support for Palm Computing connected organizers. The company has also reached an agreement with NuvoMedia to publish its catalog in the Rocket eBook format in June 1999.
