Esterline Technologies, a Bellevue-based manufacturer of components and subsystems for the aerospace/defense industry, announced that Robert Cremin will succeed Wendell Hurlbut as chairman of the board effective Jan. 19. Cremin will continue as the company's president and CEO. Hurlbut will continue as a board member.

Aptimus, a Seattle-based single-source online direct marketing network, announced the appointment of four new executives to its senior management team. In addition, two senior managers are shifting roles to better accommodate the expanding Aptimus network and the recent acquisition of XMarkstheSpot. Scott Rozic, former founder, president and CEO of XMarkstheSpot, joins Aptimus as executive vice president, sales and marketing. Keith Miscione, former vice president of engineering at XMarkstheSpot, joins Aptimus as chief technology officer. Frank Yien, former vice president of product management and general manager of XMarkstheSpot, joins Aptimus as vice president and general manager of networks. Lisa Wolff has moved from her position as vice president, business development, to a new role as vice president, corporate development. Dave Sharp will now serve as general manager of sites, including FreeShop.com, CatalogSite and Desteo, in addition to his role as senior vice president.

Teeples is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that course content satisfies OSHA standards and certain requirements as stated in their regulations.
Ripcord Systems, a London- and Seattle-based developer of wireless products and services connecting mobile workforces with corporate enterprise systems, announced the addition of Morton Topfer to its board of directors, bringing nearly 40 years of worldwide experience in the mobile and high-tech sectors to the company. Topfer serves as counselor to Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of Dell Computers, where he advises in matters such as operations, quality and customer experience issues.

Institute for Systems Biology founder Dr. Leroy Hood was recently honored by the International Association of Protein Structure Analysis and Proteomics as co-recipient of the 2000 Edman Award. Hood was recognized alongside colleague Michael Hunkapillar for advances in molecular biotechnology over the last two decades. Hood established the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle in January.

Returns Online, a Seattle-based business-to-business company providing multi-channel returns management solutions for the retail industry, announced the expansion of its management team with the addition of David Ashton as director of North American sales, and the internal promotions of Craig Eidem to vice president of engineering and network operations, and Christy Adkinson to vice president of marketing. Both Eidem and Adkinson have been named officers of the company. As a former sales director for Ernst & Young, Ashton brings more than 15 years of sales management and business development experience to Returns Online. Eidem brings more than 15 years of experience in systems and software engineering for the Internet, telecommunications and avionics industries. Adkinson has 14 years of experience in engineering design and strategic marketing management.
Vancouver-based Internet professional services company Columbus Group announced the commencement of American-focused operations with the opening of its first U.S. office in Seattle. The company was formed over five years ago, with the vision of providing a wide scope of Internet Services that would enable large organizations to build their online businesses. Columbus Group's Seattle office is open at the top floor of 1932 First Ave. The director of Western U.S. operations is Rich Adam.
Tangis, a Seattle-based company that creates software technologies to make wearable computers work, has added syndicated high-tech columnist, Jesse Berst to the Tangis advisory board. Berst is an internationally recognized technology expert and one of the pioneers of the e-mail and Web world. He conceived and created ZDNet AnchorDesk and built it into the world's largest daily email newsletter.
HostPro, the Nampa, Idaho-based Internet and Web hosting subsidiary of Micron Electronics, announced the appointment of Robert Carlier as vice president of marketing. Carlier will be responsible for leading branding and marketing efforts across the company’s broad range of Web hosting, e-commerce and Internet services. He brings more than 20 years of domestic and international marketing experience with a variety of companies, including serving as senior director of marketing for Oracle Corp.
