ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) — Volunteers reported seeing the spouts from 1,900 gray whales last week as they passed the Oregon coast on their annual migration from Alaskan waters to the warmer waters off Mexico.
The volunteers took part in a program sponsored by the state Parks and Recreation Department called Whale Watching Spoken Here.
