SEATTLE — Explore one of the most colorful eras in American history at the Museum of History & Industry with a new exhibit called “American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition.”
The show was created by the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia and curated by author Daniel Okrent. It will open at MOHAI April 2 and run until Aug. 23.
There will be a re-created speakeasy at MOHAI as well as films, photos, rare artifacts and tastings from local alcohol manufacturers. MOHAI said the Jazz Age was in full swing in Seattle, and visitors will also see how this region pushed boundaries and sparked national conversations about legislating morality, including the legalization of marijuana.
Special events will include a fashion lecture and pub activities with participating bars.
Information is at http://www.mohai.org.
