SEATTLE — Washington State Parks is offering family-friendly, guided snowshoe hikes this winter at Lake Easton State Park, 17 miles east of Snoqualmie Summit.
The three-mile hikes start promptly at 12:30 p.m. on the following dates: Dec. 15, 19 and 26; Jan. 1, 12, 13 and 26, 27; and Feb. 9, 10 and 23, 24. Hikes will be on moderate terrain, and last about two and a half hours.
Groups will meet at the park's day use area, 150 Lake Easton State Park Road in Easton. Arrive early and be ready to hit the trail at 12:30 p.m. Bring snowshoes, poles, layered clothing, boots and water.
Guides will share natural history, and tips on snowshoeing and snow safety.
