Keith Walzak joined NBBJ in Seattle as a leader in the urban design and planning practice. Walzak has more than 28 years of design experience. He focuses on multi-modal and green infrastructure, urban redevelopment/regeneration strategies, cultural arts and social equity initiatives. His projects include San Diego Unified Port District's 50-year master plan; Cairo Gate master plan in Egypt; and CityNorth master plan in Phoenix. He won the Colorado Governor's Downtown Excellence Award and the Aesthetics in Public Transit Award from University of Arizona, Tucson.

She was previously technical discipline leader for Kleinfelder's compliance and strategic planning disciplines. Ruebelmann is a geologist with over 28 years of experience.

Elliott Bay Design Group hired Peter Tarabochia as vice president and chief financial officer. Tarabochia worked at Vigor Industrial. He has more than a decade of experience, and has been a financial leader for Fortune 500 enterprises. EBDG is a Seattle-based naval architecture and marine engineering firm with offices in New Orleans and Ketchikan, Alaska.

Yost Grube Hall Architecture

Yost Grube Hall Architecture added Jeanne Jameson and Iren Taran to the ownership group. It also granted additional shares to these shareholders: interior designer Liz Bray, sustainability director Lona Rerick, and marketing director and Amy Winterowd. Bray has been with YGH since 1997, Rerick and Winterowd since 2001. Jameson is a project architect who joined YGH in 2007. She has worked on projects for the University of Hawaii, Chemeketa Community College, U.S. General Services Administration and Dow Chemical. Taran, an architect, has been with YGH since 2003. She is focused on international projects, including University of Botswana, American University of Afghanistan and Chevron. YGH provides planning, architecture and interior design.

Studio Meng Strazzara promoted Tony Fan, Chris Davidson, Steven Lee and John Goebel to directors responsible for management of the firm. Also, it promoted Carrie Thompson to director of administration. Fan is a lead designer for multifamily, mixed-use and commercial projects, including The Gatsby Apartments. Davidson is a project manager and designer for multifamily and mixed-use projects, including Interbay Work Lofts. Lee is a project manager and designer for academic projects, including Robert Frost Elementary. Goebel is a project manager and designer for a variety of building types, including work on the Snowy Owl Theater. Thompson will manage business operations, including human resources, accounting, finance and IT. She holds a certificate in design firm administration from the Society for Design Administration.

GeoEngineers hired Justin Rice as a staff geologist in its Spokane office. Previously, he was a geologist for the USDA Forest Service in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. GeoEngineers is an earth science, engineering and technology consulting firm headquartered in Seattle with 13 offices nationwide.

The Seattle office of Fehr & Peers promoted Chris Breiland to principal/shareholder. Breiland joined the firm in 2005 after earning a master's degree in civil engineering. Fehr & Peers said he is a leader in travel behavior analysis and forecasting and in applying Big Data to address complex transportation questions facing the Northwest.

PCS Structural Solutions

PCS Structural Solutions named Alex Lege an associate in its Seattle office. Lege began his career with PCS Structural Solutions after graduating from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo in 2007. He is working on the Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences STREAM Building, and has worked on Boeing projects and the Cedar Park Elementary School renovation.

McGlenn

Jacobs Associates engineering firm promoted Andrew McGlenn to lead associate. McGlenn has 17 years of experience in structural engineering for aboveground and underground infrastructure. He is based in the Seattle office, where he is lead structural engineer on underground projects in the Northwest and abroad. He was project manager and engineer of record for the Evergreen Line Rapid Transit Tunnel and Port Mann Main Water Supply Tunnel in British Columbia.

The Blueline Group promoted Chris Wiscomb to CAD manager and Dominque Gabaldon to design manager and hired Yannick Mets and Amanda Barnett as engineers-in-training following their summer internships. Wiscomb was a CAD drafter/designer for over six years with Blueline and is filling a recently vacated position. Gabaldon was an engineering designer for nearly nine years with Blueline and will now provide training, design, and technical support to other designers and drafters. Mets holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Arizona State University, and will focus on civil engineering and inspection services. Barnett holds a bachelor's in environmental resources engineering from the State University of New York, and will focus on civil engineering design. Blueline provides civil engineering and land development consulting services.

Freiheit & Ho Architects promoted Jamie Love to project architect. Love has 10 years of experience on corporate rollout, retail, assisted living and ecclesiastical projects. Recently she managed work for McDonald's Restaurant major remodel program across Washington, Alaska, Idaho, Montana and Oregon. Her other projects include the Church of Blessing and the Twin Pine Resort. Freiheit & Ho is a commercial architecture and interior design firm.
