Studio Meng Strazzara hired Angela Kim as an administrative assistant, Austin Weller as an intern architect, Jori Love as marketing coordinator, Katrina Turner as marketing manager and Michael Ashinay as a project intern architect. Kim was digital displays project manager for the University of Washington Intercollegiate Athletics. Weller has experience in mixed-use, institutional, hospitality, retail and commercial work. Love was an office administrator/marketing coordinator with Schemata Workshop. Turner has held posts with LMN Architects and Weaver Architects. Ashinay has worked on civic, transportation, commercial and residential projects. He was with GHL Consultants.
In its Redmond office, Otak hired John Velimesis as a senior water resource engineer and floodplain manager, Jeff Gray as a senior wetland scientist, Eva Ho as an engineer and Joe Schober as a civil engineering designer. Velimesis has done project and program management, civil design and environmental restoration, and sustainable design. He is working on stream stabilizations for Snohomish County. Gray has done environmental and ecological investigations for projects. He is working on wetland delineations for the Archdiocese of Seattle. Ho has experience in roadway and site layout design, stormwater analysis, conveyance systems, treatment facilities, and municipal sewer systems. She is working on the Main Avenue project in Twin Falls, Idaho. Schober has provided engineering support and design work for transportation and infrastructure. He is working on a Yellowstone Park project for the National Park Service. Otak is an urban design, architecture, planning and engineering firm.
Buckland & Taylor hired Moein El-Aarag as senior bridge engineer-group lead at its U.S. headquarters in Seattle. El-Aarag has experience in project management, business development and structural engineering. He was project manager, bridge and structures group at Jacobs. B&T will rebrand as COWI North America on Jan. 1. The bridge, tunnel and marine engineering consulting group has 13 offices in North America.
Dustin Wasley joined GeoEngineers' Spokane office as a principal environmental engineer. Wasley has over 20 years of experience conducting and overseeing investigation, design, reclamation and construction on mines. He has also facilitated negotiations between owners, landowners, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
Integrity Energy Services hired Matt Montagner as director of project development. He is an engineer and Certified Energy Manager with 20 years of experience that includes facility assessments, energy calculations, construction estimating and utility incentives. The Seattle firm does upgrades to building systems.
Elliott Bay Design Group hired Carolyn de Rubertis as a human resources generalist in its Seattle office. De Rubertis has over 20 years of experience in management, human resources, strategic planning and process improvement. EBDG provides naval architecture, marine engineering and production support, with offices also in New Orleans and Ketchikan.
KBA hired Kevin Stoll as a construction manager in the Bellevue office. He has over 20 years of experience planning, designing, constructing, operating and managing projects in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America. He spent 20 years in the U.S. Army, including as deputy commander for the Corps of Engineers' Seattle District. KBA provides construction management.
Environmental Science Associates named Leslie Moulton-Post chief executive officer and president. She will take over from President Gary Oates next spring. Moulton-Post has been with the firm for over 30 years, leading its largest practice and managing projects. She will continue to work with clients and as leader of the California water practice during the transition. ESA is a West Coast-based environmental planning and design firm.
Stantec hired Roy Hummell as a principal scientist and Linda Mortensen as a senior scientist in Bellevue. They will focus on a national sediment assessment and remediation program. Hummell has over 20 years of experience with hazardous substances and is project manager for the Holden Mine remediation. Mortensen has experience in aquatic toxicology and sediments. She has led sampling investigations of PCBs and dioxins in shellfish in the Northwest. Stantec consults in planning, engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, project management and project economics.
