Western Washington Fair Association

Dan McClung was elected to the Western Washington Fair Association board of directors. McClung is taking the position that has been filled by Thomas Tebb, who is moving to emeritus status. The 12-member board manages the Puyallup Spring Fair, Puyallup Fair Foundation Scholarship Dinner/Auction, Puyallup Fair and Oktoberfest.

Cascadia Community College

Dr. William Christopher, president of Cascadia Community College, said he will retire June 30. Chrisopher came to Cascadia in July of 2005 when the college was five years old. The board appointed trustee Michael Martino to chair the Presidential Search Committee and expects to select a search consultant in early February.

Sandusky Radio

Bellevue's Sandusky Radio hired Karly Smaciarz as marketing and promotion director for MOViN' 92.5 and AM 880 KIXI. Smaciarz has 10 years of radio experience in the Seattle market.

Frause

Seattle-based communications firm Frause recently announced four internal promotions and one new hire. Sue Gillespie was promoted to senior vice president. Krista Hildebrand, managing director of Frause's Portland office, was promoted to vice president. Laura Figueroa was promoted to vice president. Nicole Phelan was promoted to account supervisor. Frause hired Amy Graham as assistant account executive. Graham graduated from the University of Washington in December of 2009.

Twisted Cork and STIR

Twisted Cork and STIR Martini + Raw Bar named Erik Carlson executive chef of both venues. Carlson has worked at Chandler's Crab House, Tap House Bar & Grill and at the Arnies restaurants. Twisted Cork is in the Hyatt Regency Bellevue. STIR is in the Bellevue Place Wintergarden.

Washington Campus Compact

Washington Campus Compact hired Lisa Jacobsen as the grant manager to manage the Retention Project, an AmeriCorps program. The Retention Project's AmeriCorps members are placed on 13 campuses across Washington to recruit college students who would serve as mentors to junior high school and high school students. Jacobsen has more than 13 years of experience in managing programs.

Primary Care Partners Northwest

Internists Dr. James Bowers and Dr. Robert Saunders have opened a new medical practice called Primary Care Partners Northwest in Suite 125 of the McMurray Building at 1536 N. 115th St., on the Northwest Hospital & Medical Center campus. Saunders was formerly with Sand Point Internists and Bowers was with Northwest Primary Care.

Stoel Rives

Stoel Rives, a full-service business law firm, said John Ridge of the Seattle office has been elected a partner of the firm. Ridge practices in the Litigation Group and is associated with the Tax Group.

Fisher Radio

Fisher Radio Seattle, consisting of KOMO Newsradio, AM 570 KVI, STAR 101.5 and sales for KING FM 98.1, hired Dennis McCormick as local sales manager. McCormick has an extensive background in Seattle broadcasting, digital marketing and advertising.
