Renton-based Parallels hired Mauro Meanti as general manager and senior vice president of sales and marketing in the Cloud Service Provider Business Unit. Meanti was vice president for business strategy for Microsoft International. Parallels is a privately held virtualization technology company.
London-based Ernst & Young announced that Matthew Stover has re-joined the firm as an assurance partner in the Seattle office. Ernst & Young is a professional services organization that helps companies identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
The U.S. Small Business Administration named Giselle Saguid as the 2013 Washington State Veteran Small Business Champion. Saguid was program director of the Northwest Washington Women's Business Center and has worked with the Department of the Navy.

The Seattle law firm Lane Powell added Vernon W. Francissen and John R. Dawson as counsel in the intellectual property and technology practice group. Francissen was patent counsel at Microsoft and will work in the Seattle office. Dawson was a partner at a national patent boutique firm and will be based in the Portland office.
The Seattle Women's Commission is seeking applications to fill five vacant seats. It advises the mayor, city council and city departments on issues that impact women in Seattle. Terms are for two-year with a three term maximum and are subject to confirmation by the City Council. Applicants must live or work in Seattle and be available for monthly meetings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. once a month at City Hall. The Seattle law firm Betts Patterson & Mines hired attorneys Pam Kohli Jacobson and Mary Atkinson to the intellectual property practice group. Both Kohli and Atkinson worked for law firm Christensen O'Connor Johnson & Kindness.
Bruce Henrickson, a public affairs specialist at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Walla Walla District, earned two national-level awards for superior performance in Corps public affairs programs during 2012. Henrickson earned a first-place Mouton Award in the community relations and a second-place award in media relations.

Nintendo named Robyn Corr vice president of human resources. Corr joined Nintendo in April and was most recently vice president of partner resources at Starbucks. Nintendo is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.
Seattle-based Kline Galland announced the opening of a new home health care agency in the greater Seattle area. The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle provided $45,000 to help cover startup costs. Kline Galland provides residential and community services supporting Jewish seniors in the Seattle area.
Seattle-based investment firm McAdams Wright Ragen hired J.D. Allen, Kirk Bierwagen and Ron Benzel as senior vice presidents in the Spokane office. Also joining the firm is Alexis Hallett, registered sales assistant. All four worked for Partners Investment Network.
