Phyllis Nomura joined First Sound Bank as executive vice president and chief financial officer. She was executive vice president and CFO for Core Business Bank, and began her career in 1994 with Deloitte. Nomura has also worked for First Security Bank of Washington, Viking Bank and Washington Mutual.
A $500,000 gift from Western Washington University alumnus and retired Microsoft vice president David W. Cole and his wife, Denise, will allow WWU to hire its first professor of entrepreneurship. The David Cole Professor of Entrepreneurship will be part of the College of Business and Economics. The goal is to help graduates start successful organizations and create jobs. Cole worked on development of Windows, Internet Explorer and MSN.com.

Allied Law Group attorney Michele L. Earl-Hubbard was recently selected 2014 Lawyer of the Year for First Amendment Law in the Seattle area by Best Lawyers guide.
Lawyers are selected based on peer reviews. Earl-Hubbard was also listed in the 2014 Best Lawyers in America for Litigation-First Amendment.
The 5th Avenue Theatre hired Patrick Harrison as vice president of marketing and communications. He will oversee subscription campaigns, ticket sales, public relations, telemarketing, customer service and special projects. Harrison lived in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he ran P. Gringo Marketing & PR for retailers, restaurants, hotels and other entertainment activities. Before that he worked in Seattle in marketing for entertainment and retail, and was advertising director for Frederick & Nelson.

Banner Bank named Stephanie Dibble assistant vice president, branch manager at the Federal Way location at 34600 Pacific Hwy. S. She has 10-plus years of banking experience, and has worked as a personal banker, loan consultant and branch manager.


The Seattle law firm of Riddell Williams said corporate lawyers Ryan J. Straus and Daniel S. Friedberg have joined the firm as principals, and co-chairs of the payments practice area. They have backgrounds in technology and financial services, and will assist clients with electronic payments, mobile payments, prepaid cards, alternative currencies, and federal and state licensing.

Inessa Baram-Blackwell joined Lane Powell as an attorney in the Litigation Practice Group, where she will focus on securities and corporate governance litigation, labor litigation and other complex litigation. She worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati on securities and corporate governance litigation matters.
Seattle-based Sesame Communications, a provider of cloud-based solutions for marketing dental and orthodontic practices, has hired Chris Bethell as vice president of marketing, and Ryan Anderson as vice president of sales. Bethell has more than 25 years of marketing and management experience with technology and health care. Anderson has worked at several Pacific Northwest tech companies.
Lisa Wochos has been named chief legal adviser for Western Washington University. She succeeds Wendy Bohlke, who retired in June. Wochos, an assistant attorney general, previously was part-time legal counsel to Western. Kerena Higgins, assistant attorney general, will succeed Wochos as part-time legal counsel to Western.
