PlaceFull.com, Judy's Book

Two Seattle startups, PlaceFull.com and Judy's Book, have partnered to help small businesses get business online. PlaceFull.com is rolling out 11 new directories of merchants to help Judy's Book consumers get booked online. It also will display Judy's Book reviews. New directories are for service providers such as home inspectors, artists, painters, roofers and handyman services. Merchants have a dedicated page and access to services such as a free mobile app and credit card reader.

Association of School Administrators

The Washington Association of School Administrators elected Frank Hewins, superintendent of Franklin Pierce Schools, president-elect for 2014–15. Hewins will assume the presidency in July 2015, following the term of the current president, Michelle Price, superintendent, Moses Lake School District.

Bellevue Arts Museum

Bellevue Arts Museum named Linda Pawson executive director. Pawson has been interim executive director since last fall. She worked as a consultant for Accenture and then for 10 years at Microsoft in the sales, marketing and services group. Pawson also was on the board at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle.

X2 Biosystems

X2 Biosystems, a Seattle-based tech company focused on detection and management of traumatic brain injury, named retired Major General Stephen Layfield president of the government and industrial division. Layfield has more than 30 years of leadership, training and command experience, serving in Bosnia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Afghanistan and Operation Enduring Freedom. The company's technology is being tested for use by the military.

Tuta Bella

Joe Fugere is this year's recipient of the Gill A. Centioli Memorial Award by Festa Italiana, which produces the Italian Festival at Seattle Center. The award honors a local Italian-American for success and positively reflecting the Italian community. Previous winners include Albert D. Rosellini, Victor Rosellini, Art Oberto and Lou Guzzo. Fugere opened his first Neapolitan pizzeria in 2004 and now owns five more restaurants.

City of Fife

Interim Police Chief Mark Mears has been appointed the city's new police chief. He led a collaborative effort to develop a strategic plan for the department and has been assistant police chief since 2006.

Stoel Rives

Leppo

The law firm Stoel Rives said partner Jeffrey W. Leppo has been appointed office managing partner in Seattle, the firm's second-largest office. Leppo is an environmental and natural resources practitioner, with a focus on environmental, wildlife and natural resources law. He succeeds Melanie Curtice, who is returning to full-time practice in the employee benefits practice.

AssureStart

AssureStart, a Seattle-based online small business insurance provider, named Chad Zenner chief marketing officer. AssureStart sells business property and general liability insurance to small businesses on the Internet. Zenner was with Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa, as director of digital marketing.
