Sound Physicians, a Tacoma-based hospitalist and post-acute care organization, said it will acquire Cogent Healthcare, a hospitalist and intensive care organization with more than 650 providers in more than 80 U.S. hospitals. The two will now serve more than 180 hospitals in 35 states.
Panopto, a video platform provider for business and education markets, added Rob Hughes as vice president of sales. He was senior vice president of worldwide sales and support and chief revenue officer at Vidyo, a video conferencing firm. Seattle-based Panopto creates software to import, record, share and view video presentations.
Allison+Partners named Jen Graves senior vice president of marketing and business development. Graves was vice president of U.S. business development for Edelman. She will focus on global marketing efforts and be based in the Seattle office.

REI hired Ben Steele as its first chief creative officer. Steele was executive creative director at Hornall Anderson in Seattle. He will lead creative strategy across REI in physical and digital assets, product development, product assortment and employment.
Beginning in December, Swire Shipping's West Coast North America Service will add a monthly, direct call linking Everett with Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, opening a new trade lane for the Port of Everett. Swire is based in Singapore.
Teresita Batayola has been appointed to the Seattle College District Board of Trustees by Governor Jay Inslee. She is CEO of International Community Health Services in Seattle.

Nintex, a workflow automation company, said Jeffrey A. Christianson has been named general counsel. Christianson has served as a senior executive and chief legal officer for more than 23 years, most recently at F5 Networks.
Friends of Youth added Chris Fernandez to the Board of Directors. Fernandez is a general manager of human resources for Microsoft. Friends of Youth delivers therapeutic services for youth, young adults and families.
Patti Cole-Tindall, director of the King County Office of Labor Relations, will also supervise the county Office of Law Enforcement Oversight while a permanent director is sought. Cole-Tindall is an investigator and advisor to the county on labor planning, policy development and employment law.
