PCC Natural Markets named Cate Hardy chief executive officer. Hardy brings more than 15 years of retail experience in management, operations, supply chain, store development and strategy, and was selected following a national search. Hardy was with Starbucks for nine years, most recently as vice president of operations. She also was a vice president at Washington Mutual and a consultant with McKinsey & Co. and Deloitte.
AlphaCipher Acquisition, which does business as Vadium providing digital privacy and security services, named Cinthia Portugal, Scott Hazeltine and Bill Yakamovich to the Senior Leadership Team. Portugal will lead marketing. Hazeltine will run accounting functions, human resources and internal IT operations. Yakamovich will manage the global Sales Engineering Group.

Stokes Lawrence said Lisa Schaures and Aviva Kamm in the Seattle office have been promoted to shareholders. Schaures counsels closely held businesses and startups on governance, taxes, mergers and acquisitions, deferred compensation, corporate giving and social entrepreneurism. Kamm represents employees and employers on discrimination, termination, wage/hour issues, and noncompete and nonsolicitation provisions. They also work in the firm's Yakima office.
Nintex, a Bellevue-based workflow automation firm, said Kim Albrecht has joined in a new position: vice president of brand marketing and events. Albrecht will lead worldwide marketing communications, events, public relations and analyst relations. She was with Silver Fox Productions overseeing business development, management and strategic planning.

Clark Nuber, a Bellevue CPA and consulting firm, elected Shawn Hansen to audit and assurance shareholder. He leads the employee benefit plan audit practice. Julie Eisenhauer has been elected to audit and assurance shareholder. She will lead the hospitality practice and co-lead the real estate services group. Clark Nuber works with privately held and family businesses, public companies, foundations and individuals.
First Sound Bank promoted Dinah A. Quick to executive vice president and chief administrative officer. Quick has been operations manager since 2004.
ProteoTech of Kirkland, a privately held biotech company developing treatments for amyloid diseases and misfolded protein disorders, named Roger S. Flugel, Ph.D., chief executive officer. Flugel was CEO of TheraVida in Mountain View, California, and a principal at Sanderling Ventures.

The Northwest School named Pacific Science Center's Michal Allaire chief financial officer, effective in June after Jan Chiles retires as CFO. Allaire has been chief financial and operating officer at the center since 2009, with a budget of $25 million and 200 employees. She also worked at KCTS 9 Television. The school has 500 students in grades 6-12.
HaloPure said S.D. “Dave” Worley was named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. Worley is a scientific advisor to HaloSource and a professor emeritus of chemistry and biochemistry. He does research on drinking water in developing nations.
Cadence Biomedical of Seattle named Barry Hix of Birmingham, Alabama, its new CEO. Cadence Biomedical develops devices to help people recover from strokes or other neurological conditions. He succeeds co-founder Brian Glaister, who becomes chief operating officer.
Orman Johnson was elected chairman of Columbia Basin Development League, created in 1964 to support the Bureau of Reclamation's Columbia Basin Project. Kevin Lyle is vice chair, Jake Wollman Jr. is treasurer and Jeff Schibel is secretary.
