SEATTLE -- Harley Marine Services of Seattle has bought Public Service Marine of Long Beach, Calif. Harley Marine operates over 40 pieces of marine equipment along the West Coast and Alaska, and Public Service Marine runs the fuel barge Jovalan in California.
Jovalan features a completely self-contained vapor recovery system to scrub, compress and condense hydrocarbon vapors created during petroleum cargo loadings. The system is patented.
"With this addition to our group of companies, we now will be one of the largest providers of marine petroleum transportation and ship docking services in California," said Harley Franco, chairman of Harley Marine.
Harley Marine has several subsidiary companies, including Olympic Tug & Barge, Westoil Marine Services, Pacific Coast Maritime, Pacific Terminal Services and Millennium Maritime.
