Barlish

Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, promoted Bob Barlish from senior project manager to project executive in the Special Projects Group. Barlish has more than 40 years of industry experience, including a stint early in his career as a journeyman cabinet maker in an old world German woodworking shop in Seattle. He has been with Howard S. Wright since 2012, and is active in the Building Owners and Managers Association and NAIOP.

Lee has 11 years of experience with local and regional construction projects. Ellyson also has 11 years of industry experience. He is working with all of the project managers at Express.

MGAC

Washington, D.C.-based MGAC merged with Basis LLC, a cost and risk management consulting firm based in Los Angeles and comprised of former directors of Davis Langdon/Aecom. MGAC provides owner's representation and project management services across the country and internationally. The merger expands MGAC's presence in California and the western United States. MGAC has an office in Seattle.

Walsh Construction Co. promoted Tracy Ann Michel to assistant project manager in the Seattle office. Michel has been with the company for four years, working as a project engineer and in the Extended Services department. Her new duties include estimating, value engineering, job costing and schedule monitoring.

Matthew Hafen joined Adolfson & Peterson Construction's Pacific Northwest office as assistant project manager. Hafen has more than 10 years of industry experience and recently worked on large-scale projects in Hawaii. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Brigham Young University.

Law firm Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker hired Howard W. Roth as an of counsel attorney in its Seattle office. Roth, a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, is focusing his practice on government contracts. He has more than 23 years of government contract law experience, and was legal counsel to the Army's Regional Support Command program manager in California overseeing construction of more than 50 buildings in seven states.

BNBuilders

De Yarza

David de Yarza, director of innovation at BNBuilders, is transitioning into the president's chair of the Seattle Revit User Group board of directors. Founded in 2007, SeaRUG is a local group that builds technical skills and exchanges ideas in the use of Autodesk Revit products. De Yarza has been on the board since 2010.

Bellingham Technical College

The American Welding Society accredited Bellingham Technical College's welding program as a certified test facility. The endorsement allows the school to perform many types of welding certifications above and beyond that of the Washington Association of Building Officials. BTC and Bates Technical College in Tacoma are the only schools in the state that are certified test facilities.
