Robenalt

Seattle-based PSF Mechanical hired Andrew Robenalt and Randy Stabnow as project design engineers and Robert Hill as VCM design modeler. Both Robenalt and Stabnow hold bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering from Saint Martin's University. Stabnow, PE, is a former PSF employee with eight years of industry experience. Hill holds an associate's degree in design drafting from Green River Community College, and has seven years of CADD experience.

Balfour Beatty Construction's Washington state division, Howard S. Wright, hired Salone Habibuddin as project solutions manager. Habibuddin is working with the division's business development team to move projects through the real estate acquisition, entitlement, design, construction and leasing phases. She is a development director/construction manager and licensed architect with over 21 years of industry experience. She holds a master's degree in construction management and a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Washington.

David Zeitlin joined Hill International as the project manager for the Wenatchee School District's capital bond program. Zeitlin is also working on business development in the K-12 schools and colleges capitol development sectors. He has over 30 years of experience in architecture and project management. He holds a master's degree in architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture and a bachelor's degree in environmental design from the University of Massachusetts.

Tacoma-based American Construction Co. promoted Steve Brannon to CEO, Kevin Culbert to president and Rod Gowdy to project operations manager. Brannon is focusing on strategic direction and expansion. He has led the company for 23 years. Culbert has been with the company for 28 years, most recently as vice president and manager of construction operations. Gowdy has 24 years of marine construction experience; the last 12 at American.

Bellevue–based Rafn Co. transitioned to its third generation of leadership, with former President and COO Shawn Rhode becoming CEO. Former CEO Tom Ambrey continues with the company as vice-chairman of the board. Heather Bunn, vice president of business development, and CFO Marc Victor round out the management team. Rhode has worked as a carpenter, foreman and superintendent during his 32 years at Rafn. He became president and COO in 2008. Rafn Co. was founded in 1978 by Jack and Marilyn Rafn. Jack Rafn retired in 2004 and passed the baton to Ambrey, who had been with the company since 1978.

The Gig Harbor office of Watts Constructors hired H.C. “Rocky” Gerber as project manager and Randy M. Shaffer as superintendent. Gerber holds a bachelor's degree in building construction from the University of Washington, and is a Certified Construction Manager.

Eric Brandon, Adam Dempsey and Anthony Sherman joined Walsh Construction Co.'s Washington region office as project engineers. Brandon recently graduated from Washington State University with a master's degree in engineering and technology management, as well as an MBA. He also earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from WSU. Dempsey has more than 10 years of construction experience. He previously was operations manager at Westlake Concrete. Sherman recently graduated from WSU with an MBA. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration last year from WSU.

Cochran Inc.

Cochran Inc. appointed Steve Blair as electrical service manager in Washington, and hired Donal Barnes as project manager for Electrical Special Projects and Service. Blair has 20 years of experience in the electrical construction industry, and most recently was responsible for Cochran's Charlotte, North Carolina, operations. Before that, he was service manager at SME. Barnes also is a former SME employee. His focus in on commercial, medical, industrial facilities and computer centers.

NAWIC

The National Association of Women in Construction recently installed its officers at its annual meeting and convention in Indianapolis. The Immediate Past President is Yasmine A. Branden of the Portland Chapter. Also, Sarah L. Webb of the South Sound Chapter will be serving her second year as a Pacific Northwest Region director.
