The Seattle office of Mortenson Construction hired Mary Johanson as project accountant, Terry Sanders as field engineer, Greg Radom and Josh Pategas as project managers, Jason Haden as MEP project manager, Sarah Dreger as integrated construction manager, Aaron Kearns as field engineer and Carlos Garcia as summer intern. Johanson has 10 years of AEC industry experience and holds a bachelor's degree in finance and marketing from Western Washington University. Sanders is a graduate of Central Washington University and is working on a water treatment plant at Chambers Creek. Radom previously worked at DBM Contractors and holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from British Columbia Institute of Technology. Pategas worked at Stacy and Witbeck for 12 years. Haden is supporting several Mortenson operating groups. Dreger previously lead the virtual design group for McKinstry and holds a bachelor's degree in MIS management and operations. Kearns holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Brigham Young University. Garcia is working with the estimating group. He is studying construction and facilities management at BYU.

Persson

Bayley Construction hired Roland Persson and Jon Sellar as project managers, and Todd Illy and Claudia Estrada as project engineers. Persson has more than 35 years of experience in commercial, public works and tenant improvement projects. Sellar has more than 15 years of industry experience and is working on Cedar Park Elementary in Seattle. Illy has experience with retail and medical projects, and is working with Persson on a project at the Washington State Convention Center. Estrada is a recent graduate of Portland State University and is working on the Gateway Mall in Oregon.

Andersen Construction

Joel Andersen was named president of Portland-based Andersen Construction. He follows in the footsteps of his grandfather and company founder, Andy Andersen, and his father, David Andersen, who is CEO and board chair. Joel started in the company's estimating department while in high school, and was as a project engineer while earning a bachelor's degree in construction management at Oregon State University. In 2008 he opened Andersen's Seattle office.

ABC of Western Washington

Anfinsen

Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington hired Katie Anfinsen as membership development manager. Anfinsen took over from Wendy Novak, who became chapter president in April. Anfinsen spent eight years in Whitefish, Montana, where she worked at Whitefish Mountain Resort and First Interstate Bank. She holds a bachelor's degree in recreation and tourism management from Central Washington University.

Process Heating Co.

Seattle-based Process Heating Co.'s Lo-Density storage tank heater won a Top 30 Editor's Choice Award from Asphalt Contractor magazine. The heater was chosen as a preferred product based on feedback from asphalt construction equipment owners and end users.

Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, hired Joesph Hull as project executive and Gary Edmonds as senior project manager for its Washington State Division. Hull has 25 years of industry experience and worked on the EMP, Central Library and other projects in the Seattle area. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Oregon University, received GC/CM certification from the University of Washington and is a member of the Design-Build Institute of America. Edmonds has 40 years of AEC experience, and is a licensed architect and Associate AIA. He previously was a global practice leader at MG2. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Oregon.
