Mukilteo-based University Mechanical Contractors hired Troy Turpin as project executive, Rachael LeCoump as payroll coordinator, Derek LaMarche as VCS coordinator and Aga Madetko as fabrication coordinator. Turpin has over 16 years of construction industry experience. He returned to UMC after three years as an independent consultant. LeCoump previously worked for a local commercial mechanical contractor and has extensive experience in construction/project accounting. LaMarche recently earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Central Washington University. Madetko has a degree in computer science and experience managing businesses.

Jason Clotfelter joined The Walsh Group as site safety and health officer. Clotfelter spent 30 years in the Navy and most recently was site safety and health officer for Nova Group on an explosives handling wharf project at Naval Base Kitsap. He is currently working on Building 435 at Naval Base Kitsap.

CITC of Washington

Jones

The Construction Industry Training Council of Washington hired Mandy Jones as apprenticeship program assistant and promoted Blanca Lizaola, who previously held that position, to mechanical trades coordinator. Jones ensures the accuracy of all CITC apprenticeship records. She previously worked at Harborstone Credit Union and the Spokane Chiefs Hockey Club, and holds a bachelor's degree from Eastern Washington University. Lizaola is supporting the mechanical apprenticeships within the CITC programs for plumbing, sheet metal and HVAC. She is the link between training agents (employers) and apprentices.

Ritchie Bros.

Industrial auctioneer and equipment distributor Ritchie Bros. bought Petrowsky Auctioneers to enhance its presence in New England. The $7 million cash deal could be expanded, if sales targets are met over the next three years. Ritchie is based in the Vancouver, B.C., area and Petrowsky is headquartered in North Franklin, Connecticut. Last year, Petrowsky auctioned nearly $50 million worth of construction equipment and other assets. The Petrowsky name will be retained.

The Seattle office of Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted Shardul Singh to preconstruction manager. It also hired Thao Phung as estimator; Paul Ernst, Derek Stickfort, Monica Jones and Colton Cox as project engineers; and Brian Jackson as senior project engineer. Singh has been in construction since 2009 and started at Lewis in 2013 as project engineer and estimator. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction engineering and management from Purdue University. Phung has been in construction since 2013 and holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a minor in construction management from Washington State University. Ernst holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington, and is working on the Alder BioPharmaceuticals project. Stickfort holds a bachelor's degree in construction engineering from Iowa State University, and serves in the Navy Reserve. He is working at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center project. Jones, LEED AP BD&C, is a licensed professional engineer. She earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the UW, the latter in construction engineering. Cox holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the UW and is working on the Antioch University buildout. Jackson has 25 years of experience as a superintendent, and was with Lewis from 1998 to 2003. He is working on the Luma Condominiums.

The Seattle office of Abbott Construction promoted Timothy Andersen to field superintendent, Jeff Weimar to senior superintendent, Tricia Anderson to executive assistant, Anna Smithlin to organizational and professional development manager, and Olivia Hibbard to accounting supervisor. Andersen joined Abbott in 2007 and worked as a lead carpenter/foreman and service manager. Weimar has been with the company for over 20 years and is supervising work at MultiCare Auburn Medical Center. Anderson joined Abbott in 2014 as administrative assistant and receptionist. She is providing executive support, event planning, and management of general office operations. Smithlin has been with the company since 2007 and worked in variety of roles. She is focusing on employee development and training in her newly created role. Hibbard has been working in Abbott's accounting department for two years. Her new duties include supervising and training accounting staff.

Kent-based Novinium named Dean Stone regional sales manager for Canada, where he is in charge of direct sales of Novinium's cable rehabilitation products and services to the utility markets. Stone has more than 25 years of sales and management experience across several industries.
