General contractor Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted seven and hired two for its Seattle operations. Mark Portin was promoted to general superintendent; Marc Schwartz and Doug Maxfield to senior superintendents; Chuck Hynek to superintendent; Adam Thompson and James Rose III to field superintendents; and Oralia Cruz to VDC coordinator. New hires are Ryan Furth as project engineer and Tori Hall as operations assistant. Portin earned a business degree at Seattle University, joined the carpenters' union in 1990, then joined Lewis in 1995. Schwartz has been with Lewis for 26 years. Maxfield recently completed the Third & Harrison project for Martin Selig Real Estate. Hynek has been with the company for 17 years and has experience in project engineering, carpentry and field supervision. Thompson, LEED AP BD&C, holds a bachelor's degree in construction engineering technology from Montana State University. Rose started at Lewis in 2003 as a carpenter. Cruz earned degrees at the University of Utah and North Seattle College, and holds a construction management certificate from the University of Washington. Furth holds a bachelor's degree from Oregon State University. Hall studied at Lewis & Clark University.

Lydig Construction

Greene

Lydig Construction promoted Craig Greene to vice president of operations in the Bellevue office. Greene has been in the construction industry for 25 years, with stints at Taisei Corp. in Tokyo, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, and Turner Construction Co. locally. He holds an MBA and a construction management certificate from the University of Washington, a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Lehigh University, and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Villanova University.

Osborne Construction Co.

Kessel

Kirkland-based Osborne Construction Co. hired Michael Hunter as assistant superintendent, Justin Kessel as director of finance and accounting, and Jeffrey Allen as vice president of field operations and general superintendent. Hunter has 19 years of construction and leadership experience. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Western Carolina University. Kessel previously was regional controller at Adolfson & Peterson Construction. He majored in business administration with a finance concentration at the University of Washington, and holds the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist designation. Allen previously worked on complex and large-scale projects at Turner Construction.

Bargfrede

Jim Bargfrede joined Momentum, a national design-build firm based in Seattle, as project manager. Bargfrede started his career with a summer framing job and worked his way up to owning a general contracting firm before joining Momentum.




Viega LLC

Rea

Viega LLC, a manufacturer of pipe fitting installation products, promoted Scott Rea to regional sales manager for the Pacific Northwest. Rea has been in the plumbing and heating industry for more than 17 years. At Viega, he is developing traditional markets as well as new markets such as the marine and industrial sectors. He replaces Matt Bohmer, who is leading Viega's newly created Great Plains Region.

The Walsh Group

Nguyen

Kathotia

The Seattle office of The Walsh Group added Vaibhav Kathotia and Tam Nguyen as project engineers. Both are doing preconstruction for an apartment renovation in Everett. Kathotia previously worked on a project at McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas with the Walsh Archer Western Federal division. Nguyen has a background in structural engineering and started with Walsh last May on a U.S. Embassy project in Norway. She interned at Walsh's Detroit office.


Contrack Watts

Boulad

Bernard Boulad relocated to the Gig Harbor office of Contrack Watts, where he is director of proposals and marketing. Boulad joined the company in 1988 and also serves as its business development director. He holds a master's degree in business administration from George Washington University and a bachelor's degree in economics from Boston University. McLean, Virginia-based Contrack Watts is a general contractor specializing in design-build, waterfront and vertical construction.



PCL Construction

Fundraising by 28 PCL Construction offices across North America netted nearly $5 million for local United Way agencies in 2016. PCL has been giving to United Way for nearly 50 years.
