Looking for a way to build its presence in the Seattle area, Pet's Choice searched out Drs. James McGill and Linda Miller, two veterinarians who ran separate practices, and offered to build them a state-of-the-art hospital at no cost.
The result was the $1.2 million Alderwood Companion Animal Hospital and Animal Emergency & Referral Center at 19511 24th Ave. W. in Lynnwood.

The project was built last year by Bellevue's S.D. Deacon Corp. of Washington.
Jeff Clark and Matt Gregory of Architectural Werks helped design the 9,300-square-foot building, which features separate entrances for the hospital and the veterinary office.
Included is a shared middle corridor which contains rooms for radiology, storage, laundry and isolation.
The emergency facility was designed as an open treatment room to allow a team to work on several critical cases simultaneously. Additionally, there are over 100 cages and nine full-time doctors on staff.
