Vancouver firm plans $4B fuels project

Baard Energy, a Vancouver, Wash., energy project development company, has awarded AMEC Paragon of Houston a contract to provide engineering, design and project management services for a $4 billion coal-to-liquid fuel project in Columbiana County, Ohio. The plant will produce approximately 35,000 barrels per day of jet and diesel fuel, and other liquid products from coal and biomass feedstock.

AMEC Paragon will provide feasibility studies, front-end engineering and design services and turnkey engineering procurement construction to the Ohio River Clean Fuels project. The plant will be constructed on about 656 acres.
