DSA lunch topic: new Chicago park

SEATTLE — Edward K. Uhlir, executive director of the new Millennium Park in downtown Chicago, will be the keynote speaker at the Downtown Seattle Association's annual luncheon on June 12.

The 24-acre Millennium Park opened in 2004 in a space that was formerly filled with railroads and parking. It combines architecture, sculpture and landscape design. New restaurants, condos and hotels have opened around the park, helping to create a vibrant neighborhood in an area that once was an eyesore.
