City mix-up allowed demolition before landmark status review

The city issued a demolition permit on March 30, 2006, — the same day it was requested — for the 1928 Pande Cameron building.

The city erred in allowing the Pande Cameron building downtown to be razed for a high rise development without reviewing whether it should be designated a historic landmark, according to a spokesman for the Department of Planning and Development.
