The South Lake Union Discovery Center shows new ways to make buildings that takes their whole lifecycle into account.

In 25 years, experts say, most buildings existing today will have been demolished and rebuilt. But one local project — Vulcan Inc.'s Discovery Center — is expecting a longer life because it is designed to be split apart and moved to a new location.
