Plans for the new city hall project go before the Shoreline City Council Dec. 17. Planners hope to keep design and construction costs below $26 million. The city is targeting a LEED Gold rating and plans a two-story parking garage, an outdoor grass “amphitheater” for public events and a new city hall/ civic center building with up to 77,000 square feet of office space.

Seattle's northern bedroom community hopes a new city hall will serve as a magnet for sustainable development.
