City may jettison ‘Jetsons' toilets

The five automatic public toilets, like this one in Occidental Park, have sensors for hand-washing and flushing, and clean themselves after every flush, but a city report says they are magnets for illegal activity.
Five self-cleaning public toilets installed downtown nearly four years ago are each used an average of 218 times a day, but a new Seattle Public Utilities report recommends the city close the toilets because too many of those uses are illegal, including prostitution and drug dealing.
