Small hydro power projects often hit some turbulence

The old Robbins and Lawrence Armory, which helped revolutionize manufacturing in the mid-19th century with the introduction of interchangeable parts, today is home to the American Precision Museum in Windsor, Vt. There’s a plan afoot to refurbish the old dam to make power for a 58-unit apartment building across the brook.

WINDSOR, Vt. — More than 150 years after it helped power the industrial revolution, the waters of Mill Brook that spill over a series of dams past the old Armory may be called back into service.
