A double elevated viaduct is one of two options for replacing the Alaskan Way Viaduct that was chosen yesterday by a project team made up of transportation officials from the state, King County and the city of Seattle.
This double viaduct — which would cost $2.3 billion including street, freeway and transit improvements — would be the best choice for through traffic and freight, the team found.
