Pierce County Traffic Engineer Jim Ellison won the Institute of Transportation Engineers' (ITE) Outstanding Service Award for 2009, which is presented to an individual who demonstrates long-term commitment to the organization and the profession.
Ellison is the 27th recipient of the award and was selected out of 500 members for this year's honor. He is involved with ITE's National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and is active in his community.
