Light rail bridge wins design award

CHICAGO — The long Seattle-to-Tukwila bridge on Sound Transit's light rail line is a winner in the annual Design Awards that the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute sponsors.

Designed by International Bridge Technologies Inc., of San Diego, the 4.7-mile bridge is the co-winner of Best Non-Highway/Pedestrian Bridge. Bethlehem Construction Co., of Cashmere supplied the precast concrete components. The co-winner was the Lake Hodges Pedestrian Bridge in San Diego.
