New study offers ideas to get Seattle walking

Alleys could become green space. Melbourne has the Laneways Program, which makes alleys into pedestrian places.

Experts from Gehl Architects in Cophenhagen say Seattle can get a lot more people walking if the city turns alleys into public spaces, makes First Avenue a green boulevard and concentrates on ways to make downtown more vibrant.
