New business is born: building backyard cottages

Customers choose a design, customize it if they want, and leave it to the Backyard Box team to get permits and build it.

When Seattle passed a law last year allowing the construction of backyard cottages, developer Sloan Ritchie knew he had to get on board and fast. Ritchie has spent his time since then feverishly creating a new business to take advantage of the change.
