New OSU dorm will be ‘mixing chamber' for students, faculty

The $32 million dorm is designed to help international students feel comfortable and interact with faculty and students. It will have a grocery store, coffee shop, four kitchens and classrooms.

Kurt Haapala, associate principal at Mahlum, has been designing residence halls for more than a decade, but he says a new dorm at Oregon State University in Corvallis blows all other residence halls out of the water.
