WoodWorks, a cooperative venture of major North American wood associations, has expanded to the Pacific Northwest with the appointment of Ethan Martin as a local senior technical director. Directors provide free support related to design and construction of non-residential and multifamily wood buildings. Martin previously owned a structural engineering firm in Asheville, N.C. His projects have ranged from small mixed-use buildings to a 470,000-square-foot, $125 million school system for the Cherokee nation. WoodWorks' Northwest presence is part of a phased national expansion.
