City wants to start work in March on a linear park along Bell Street

  • Some Belltown businesses want the city to wait until fall so construction doesn't hurt their summer sales.

    The long-term goal is to extend Bell Street Park from Fifth Avenue to Denny Park, and to the waterfront.

    In March, the city of Seattle plans to start building a linear park on Bell Street from Second to Fifth avenues, but a city official said some Belltown businesses have asked for a delay because they are concerned about how construction could affect their summer trade.
