Corner's waterfront concept on display

Photo courtesy of Waterfront Seattle [enlarge]

This 14-foot scale model shows the conceptual design for the future waterfront, including parks and paths, access to the water, a new urban street and improved east-west connections.

The scale model was designed by James Corner Field Operations, lead designer for Waterfront Seattle. The model was built locally by Rauda Scale Models. Rauda has been making models in the Northwest since 1960.

The model is on display at the Seattle Art Museum. Visit SAM's public lobby at First Avenue and Union Street to check it out. Hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Model viewing is free and open to the public; admission is required to view Seattle Art Museum exhibits.
