Sound Transit will hold an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday on the University District station, which is part of the Northgate Link extension. The meeting is at the Neptune Theater, 1303 N.E. 45th St.
Design is 90 percent complete for the station on Brooklyn Avenue Northeast between Northeast 45th and Northeast 43rd streets.
Two entrances will be on Brooklyn Avenue Northeast, and there will be elevators, escalators, stairs and 100 bike spaces. Riders will board trains underground.
LMN Architects is the architect on the project.
This is one of three stations for Northgate Link, a 4.3-mile, $2.1 billion extension scheduled to open in 2021.
Northgate Link will connect Northgate, Roosevelt and the U District with downtown and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
In a press release, Sound Transit said it will take five minutes to get from the U District station to Northgate Mall, eight minutes to downtown and 42 minutes to the airport.
