National nonprofit says museum expansion threatens Volunteer Park landscape design

Opponents say a glass lobby that is part of the $49 million proposal would be “uncomfortably close, uncomfortably tall,” casting shadows and disrupting the privacy of people below.

The Cultural Landscape Foundation has designated Volunteer Park as a “Landslide” — a threatened landscape of national significance — because of the proposal to expand the Seattle Asian Art Museum.
