Wood from old Alaskan coal bunkers reused in mantles, benches and beams

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) — Alaska builders found a new use for the timber from a disassembled Fairbanks landmark.

Timber from the old Fairbanks Coal Bunkers has been used for mantles, porches and structural beams in Alaska homes, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported .
