Umberto Napolitano, founding partner of the Paris firm Local Architecture Network, will talk about the firm's award-winning work at a Space.City event at 6:30 p.m. April 11 at Seattle Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave.
Napolitano and Benoit Jallon opened LAN in 2002 to explore the ways architecture intersects with several other disciplines. LAN's projects address social, urban, ecological, functional, aesthetic and economic issues.
The firm is in charge of redeveloping the Grand Palais in Paris, construction of Maillon Theater in Strasbourg, developing new neighborhoods in Bordeaux and Nantes, and constructing one of the highest wooden buildings in France.
Tickets are $10 at http://tiny.cc/kk3ury/.
