What makes a successful newsletter?
Some of the best are themed. But not everyone wants to read about every topic in exquisite detail, especially when the detail is given in large blocks of text on a computer screen. Reading on a monitor is harder than reading text on paper. So, limit details and trim text in a news section on the Web. Consider a hardcopy newsletter if you have more than a page of material. There is still something pleasing about holding reading matter in your hands. Hardcopy newsletters can also be passed around the office, and pinned to a bulletin board. Web-based newsletters tend to be glanced at and then forgotten.
