HONG KONG (AP) -- Nippon Cargo Airlines has signed a final agreement with Boeing Co. for the purchase of three Boeing 747-400 freighters, the aircraft manufacturer said Tuesday.
The Tokyo-based carrier will receive the new jets -- valued around $600 million in total -- between 2005 and 2006, Boeing said in a statement issued in Hong Kong.
The new freighters will fly Nippon Cargo's European and North American routes, replacing the airline's older 747-100 and 747-200 cargo jets, the statement said. Nippon Cargo already has a fleet of 10 Boeing 747-200s and one 747-100.
