Wind power project ready for approval

OLYMPIA — A state board that reviews applications for major energy facilities is recommending that Gov. Chris Gregoire approve a wind power project 12 miles northwest of Ellensburg.

The Kittitas Valley Wind Power Project would consist of about 65 wind turbines and generate 98-195 megawatts of electrical power. The project would connect with the Bonneville Power Administration or Puget Sound Energy transmission systems.
