BEIJING (AP) — A city in China's sweltering southwest is considering a new law to allow outdoor workers to stay home when temperatures are forecast to hit 104 degrees Fahrenheit, state media said Wednesday.
Under a regulation drafted by the government of Chongqing, “essential workers” such as bus drivers will have shorter working days and will be provided with beverages, the official Xinhua News Agency said.
