SPOKANE (AP) — The former leader of bankrupt Metropolitan Mortgage & Securities Co. will pay about $151,000 to settle allegations that he masterminded fraudulent real estate deals that backfired into an accounting scandal.
C. Paul Sandifur Jr. reached a settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission involving fraud allegations in the biggest corporate failure in Spokane history.
