Puget Sound cities cutting budgets and trimming services

Bremerton is offering employees the option of working a 32-hour week, reducing the hours its permitting services are open, cutting park maintenance by 20 percent and closing the pool on weekends.

Bozeman

Longview is reducing work done by summer employees, cutting back on landscaping and not filling positions when employees retire. Oak Harbor is cutting positions in public safety and fire departments, and reducing services for planning, youth and seniors.
